Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Weekend and holiday coverage as needed
Pay Rate: $45 – $50 per hour (based on experience)
A healthcare facility in Edison, NJ is seeking an experienced EEG Technician to support the Neuroscience department by performing electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring and diagnostic testing for patients with neurological conditions.
The technician will work closely with neurologists and clinical teams to collect and interpret electrophysiology data, monitor patients during EEG procedures, and ensure accurate documentation and patient safety.
Obtain and document patient seizure history and relevant medical information prior to EEG testing
Educate patients and family members about EEG procedures and monitoring processes
Continuously monitor patients during EEG testing and report seizure activity to clinical staff
Respond promptly to patient emergencies during monitoring procedures
Assist neurologists and neurosurgeons with electrode placement in bedside, laboratory, and operating room environments
Record and analyze electrophysiological data, identify artifacts, and apply appropriate montages
Perform standard activation procedures and collaborate with physicians to review EEG results
Operate and adjust EEG monitoring equipment and video monitoring systems
Maintain electrophysiology equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
Provide training and technical support to clinical staff
Deliver patient-centered care for pediatric and adult patient populations
Minimum 1 year of EEG monitoring experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited EEG training program or minimum 2 years of EEG experience
Experience performing EEG monitoring and diagnostic procedures
Strong communication and patient care skills
Experience with Evoked Potentials and Nerve Conduction studies
Familiarity with EEG monitoring systems such as Natus Medical and Nihon Kohden
Progress toward ABRET registration through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists
