Job Title: IT Business Analyst
Location: Everett, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – In-office 2 days per week; additional in-office days may be required
Duration: 3+ Month Contract
The IT Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and subject matter experts to ensure that technology solutions align with organizational goals. This role involves translating business objectives and product roadmaps into detailed requirements, identifying system gaps, and supporting solution implementation.
The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze complex business and technical challenges, document functional requirements, and support testing and deployment processes to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
Work with business stakeholders to translate business goals and product roadmaps into technical deliverables.
Collect, document, and prioritize business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
Conduct gap analysis to evaluate current system capabilities against business needs.
Develop epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria to support Agile development.
Research and recommend technology solutions based on documented requirements.
Ensure selected technologies align with business needs during implementation and testing.
Collaborate with development teams to support solution design and deployment.
Develop solution acceptance criteria and test cases for new products and features.
Participate in quality assurance and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Ensure implemented solutions meet defined business and technical requirements.
Support the technology acquisition process, ensuring compliance with technical, security, and data standards.
Coordinate with stakeholders regarding data retention, security, and compliance requirements.
Conduct analysis upon contract completion and support data transition or repatriation activities if required.
Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Facilitate discussions between business teams and IT professionals to clarify requirements and expectations.
Ensure alignment between stakeholder needs and project deliverables.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience analyzing business systems and software applications.
Experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
Creation and management of epics, user stories, and technical documentation.
Product management concepts.
Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Business technologies such as finance systems, HR systems, and business intelligence tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to define functional and non-functional requirements.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Experience working in transportation, logistics, or public sector environments.
Familiarity with Agile project management tools.
