Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Bricktown, NJ
Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Schedule: 36 Hours per Week
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care services under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services and department leadership. The therapist evaluates, treats, and manages patients with cardiopulmonary disorders while supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a hospital setting.
This role requires strong clinical knowledge in respiratory therapy, ventilator management, airway care, and patient education while working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide respiratory therapy treatments under physician direction for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
Assist with intubation procedures and airway management.
Perform ventilator setup, monitoring, and management for patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and evaluate respiratory function.
Assess patient conditions and gather clinical data to determine appropriate treatment plans.
Educate patients and caregivers about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and equipment usage.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Document respiratory treatments, patient responses, and clinical interventions accurately.
Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and ensure proper functioning of supportive devices.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and organizational competencies.
High School Diploma or GED.
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience (3 years preferred).
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification.
Current New Jersey Respiratory Care License.
BLS (AHA).
ACLS.
PALS.
Mechanical ventilation management
Airway management and intubation assistance
Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and analysis
Respiratory therapy treatment planning
Cardiopulmonary assessment
Strong communication and patient education abilities
Critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure clinical environments
