Job Title: Travel Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient
Location: Falmouth, MA
Job Type: Contract (Traveler Only)
Pay Rate: $30 – $40 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: 4 Days per Week
Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift
Weekly Hours: 32 Hours
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support hospital pharmacy operations in a fast-paced clinical environment. In this role, you will assist pharmacists with medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Responsibilities may include specialized inpatient duties such as IV preparation, chemotherapy compounding support, and medication reconciliation.
Review and process medication orders for inpatient departments
Prepare and distribute medications to patient care units
Maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates
Prepare parenteral products and pre-pack medications into unit-dose containers
Assist with pharmacy billing and administrative tasks that do not require a pharmacist
Train and support new pharmacy staff as needed
Maintain regulatory documentation and ensure pharmacy work areas meet cleanliness standards
Answer phone inquiries and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist
Provide professional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff
Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned
Assist with medication reconciliation by obtaining and documenting patient medication histories
Support chemotherapy preparation processes and perform dosage calculation checks when required
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Licensure & Certification
Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification required
Experience
Minimum 1 year of recent Pharmacy Technician experience within the past 3 years (3 years preferred)
IV room experience and Pyxis/medication station replenishment experience highly preferred
Medication reconciliation experience preferred but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient hospital environment
