Position Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Location: New York, NY 10029
Pay Rate: $55 – $59/hr (Local, based on experience)
Job Type: Contract (Temp-to-Perm)
Shift: Night Shift (TBD)
Schedule: Monday – Friday with rotating weekends
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and complex laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory environment. The technologist will support physicians in diagnosing and monitoring patient conditions by performing laboratory analyses, operating testing equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation of results. This role requires strict adherence to laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on blood, body fluids, and tissue samples
Analyze and verify laboratory results for accuracy before reporting
Operate automated and manual laboratory analyzers and instruments
Perform blood bank procedures including blood typing, crossmatching, and antibody screening
Prepare and issue blood products while following transfusion safety protocols
Receive, label, and process laboratory specimens while maintaining specimen integrity
Conduct quality control testing and assist with calibration of laboratory equipment
Troubleshoot testing issues and equipment malfunctions when necessary
Maintain accurate documentation in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Communicate critical results promptly to healthcare providers
Follow infection control and laboratory safety standards at all times
Education
Associate Degree from an accredited Laboratory Technology Program – Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field – Preferred
Certification & Licensure
Valid Clinical Laboratory Technologist License issued by NYSED – Required
BLS (Basic Life Support) – Preferred
Experience
Minimum 1 year of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience required
Blood Bank experience required
2–3+ years of laboratory experience preferred
Skills
Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory testing procedures
Experience with automated laboratory analyzers and equipment
Knowledge of blood bank and transfusion practices
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
