Compensation

  • Local Candidates (within 50 miles): Up to $2,000 per week

  • Travel Candidates (outside 50 miles): Up to $2,600 per week

Position Summary

A leading healthcare facility in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Endoscopy Associate (Endoscopy Technician) to support physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with endoscopic equipment, patient care support, and infection control protocols while maintaining high standards of safety and clinical efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations

  • Document intake and output and report any changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse

  • Prepare procedure rooms and set up endoscopy equipment prior to procedures

  • Assist physicians and nurses during procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, manometry, SpyGlass, Bravo, and 24-hour pH testing

  • Download and maintain patient diagnostic data within designated systems

  • Verify functionality of all endoscopic equipment before procedures

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and accessories according to infection control standards

  • Maintain scope processing equipment and perform scheduled maintenance including filter changes

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs with vendors or hospital engineering teams

  • Collect, label, and document patient specimens accurately

  • Assist patients with activities such as ambulation, feeding, and personal care when required

  • Support patient transport and room preparation

  • Maintain supply carts, monitor inventory levels, and restock supplies as needed

  • Perform safety checks including refrigerator alarms, equipment inspections, and negative pressure room checks

  • Assist with unit operations such as bed preparation, discharge room setup, and visitor support

  • Complete required documentation and generate procedural reports

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician

  • Recent experience in endoscopy clinical practices and equipment handling

  • BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association

  • Strong knowledge of endoscopy equipment, sterilization, and infection control standards

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Coursework in science or healthcare-related fields preferred
