Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Blood Bank

Duration: 13 Weeks Contract (Opportunity for Permanent Placement)
Schedule: Night Shift | Monday – Friday
Hours: 35 Hours per Week
Local Candidates (within 50 miles): Up to $2,030 per week
Travel Candidates (outside 50 miles): Up to $2,600 per week
A healthcare facility in New York, NY is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Blood Bank for a contract-to-permanent opportunity. The technologist will perform routine and complex laboratory testing within the blood bank department while ensuring accuracy, quality control, and compliance with laboratory standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in blood banking procedures, specimen processing, and laboratory analysis, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Perform routine and complex blood bank laboratory tests according to established laboratory protocols
Process specimens, conduct laboratory testing, and interpret results accurately
Ensure compliance with quality control procedures and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory results and test records
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results
Monitor and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment when necessary
Maintain laboratory safety standards and infection control procedures
Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical blood bank laboratory setting
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
Strong knowledge of blood bank testing procedures and laboratory protocols
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment with attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Experience with hospital-based laboratory systems and blood bank equipment
