Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Work Schedule: Every weekend required (two weekdays off – Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday)


Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $105.01 per hour

  • Total Weekly Gross Pay: $3,937 per week

  • Weekly Stipend: $3,037 per week

Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Elmhurst, NY is seeking an experienced Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment. The Pharmacist will support medication management and clinical pharmacy services in an acute inpatient environment, including the Emergency Department and Psychiatric units.

The ideal candidate will ensure safe and effective medication use, collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff, and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and pharmacy regulations

  • Provide clinical pharmacy support for inpatient units including Emergency Department and Behavioral Health

  • Monitor medication therapy for safety, effectiveness, and potential drug interactions

  • Maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records systems (EPIC experience preferred)

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care

  • Participate in medication reconciliation and patient safety initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements


Training

  • Initial 2-week training period scheduled from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, including EPIC system training.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program

  • Valid Pharmacist License issued by the New York State Education Department

  • Minimum 1 year of Pharmacist experience, preferably in an inpatient hospital setting

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association

  • Strong knowledge of medication safety, drug interactions, and pharmacy operations


Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in acute care hospital pharmacy settings

  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system

  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
