Job Title: Registered Nurse – GI Lab / Endoscopy
Location: Falmouth, MA 02540
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 hours per week | Rotating Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Additional Details: No weekends or holidays | On-call rotation required
Pay Rate:
Local: $2,175 – $2,343 per week (based on experience)
Travel: $2,693 – $2,881 per week (based on experience)
Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse – GI Lab / Endoscopy provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures. The RN assists physicians during procedures, delivers patient education, and ensures safe, effective care before, during, and after procedures.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate total nursing care using the nursing process and interdisciplinary approach.
Educate patients and families throughout the care process, including discharge planning.
Perform pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care for GI patients.
Assess patients for actual and potential health concerns and update assessments regularly.
Document patient diagnoses from assessments, history, and interviews.
Administer medications safely, including moderate sedation under physician supervision.
Monitor and manage patient pain and comfort levels.
Assist physicians during procedures such as colonoscopies, biopsies, polypectomies, esophageal dilations, and PEG placements.
Conduct pre- and post-procedure follow-up calls.
Monitor patients’ physical, mental, and psychosocial status.
Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse.
Provide care across all age groups: pediatric, adult, and geriatric.
Participate in quality improvement and performance programs.
Maintain accurate documentation using computerized nursing systems.
Deliver care aligned with the organization’s standards of compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service.
Required Skills & Experience:
2–3 years of recent Endoscopy experience (within the last 5 years)
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams
Strong communication and documentation skills
Education & Certification:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Active RN license in Massachusetts
BLS and ACLS Certification
Moderate Sedation Certification
Completion of pharmacology exam
Completion of Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam
