Salary: $118,000 – $177,000 annually (based on experience)
Additional Compensation: $15,000 Sign-On Bonus + Up to 17.5% Annual Incentive Bonus


Position Overview

A large acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Administrative Director of Women & Children’s Services to lead and oversee multiple departments within a comprehensive women’s and pediatric service line.

This leadership role supports a 600+ bed hospital with advanced maternal and pediatric services, including high-risk antepartum, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and a Level III NICU. The Director will oversee approximately 175 FTEs across three departments and manage operations supporting ~2,800 annual deliveries.

The hospital also operates as a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, offering a dynamic environment focused on quality, safety, and clinical excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct department operations to align with hospital mission, patient safety standards, and nursing philosophy.

  • Manage operational budgets, staffing plans, and departmental resources.

  • Oversee staffing models in accordance with AWHONN guidelines and ensure appropriate orientation, education, and competency programs.

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance and accreditation standards.

  • Foster strong collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Support service line growth, community outreach, and program development.

  • Guide designation and readiness initiatives for Maternal Level IV and NICU Level IV programs.

  • Mentor and develop nursing leaders and department managers.


Required Qualifications

  • BSN required

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field required

  • Active RN License (or compact license eligibility)

  • AHA BLS Certification

  • National Specialty Certification

  • 10+ years of recent nursing experience in Women’s Services (L&D, NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, or related areas)

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience
