A leading healthcare organization in Southeast Alaska is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist with AB/OB experience to join its Diagnostic Imaging team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative clinical environment while delivering high-quality patient care across all age groups.
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, maintain imaging documentation, assist physicians during procedures, and support quality assurance initiatives within the department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, clinical judgment, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations of multiple body systems for radiologist interpretation.
Provide age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan.
Operate ultrasound equipment and perform imaging procedures in the imaging department and other clinical areas as required.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
Assist with ultrasound-guided invasive procedures when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and proper care of ultrasound equipment and transducers.
Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and accreditation efforts.
Collaborate with referring physicians and healthcare teams regarding imaging procedures and findings.
Assist with development and maintenance of ultrasound policies and procedures.
Participate in continuing education to maintain certification and professional competency.
Support departmental operations, including patient transport and workflow coordination when needed.
Attend departmental meetings, training sessions, and disaster preparedness drills.
Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced and high-stress environments.
Perform duties in at least two ultrasound specialties such as General, Vascular, or Cardiac.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred.
Certifications & Licensure
Current ARDMS certification in at least one modality required (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, or RDCS).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
State licensure required upon acceptance.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Tech I: ARDMS certification in one modality
Tech II: ARDMS certification in two modalities
Tech III: ARDMS certification in three modalities
Tech IV: ARDMS certification in four modalities
Ability to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Strong knowledge of patient care across multiple age groups.
Familiarity with ultrasound equipment maintenance and quality control.
Effective communication and collaboration with physicians and clinical teams.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments.
