New York, NY (10016) | Contract | Night Shift

Compensation:

  • Travel Rate: $2,804/Week

  • Local Rate: $2,311.50/Week

  • Hourly Range: $38.62 – $52.48


Shift & Contract Details

  • Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Nights)

  • Hours: 34.5 hours per week (3 shifts per week)

  • Contract Duration: Fixed-term contract (no extension available)


Position Summary

The Neuro ICU RN provides comprehensive, high-level critical care to patients with life-threatening neurological conditions. This role requires expertise in continuous neurological assessments, advanced monitoring systems, and complex medication management in a fast-paced intensive care environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed and frequent neurological assessments (neuro checks)

  • Manage patients with External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) and Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring devices

  • Titrate vasoactive drips, sedatives, and other critical care infusions with precision

  • Demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion and phlebotomy

  • Administer and monitor conscious sedation for bedside neurological procedures

  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans

  • Provide patient and family education and emotional support during critical situations

  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards


Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care experience (required)

  • Direct Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated proficiency in IV insertion and phlebotomy

  • Experience with conscious sedation protocols

Education & Licensure:

  • Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verification required)

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
