Position: Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (Day Shift)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 15-Week Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift | Hours: 40 Hours per Week
No Weekends | No Holidays
Local pay: Up to $47.24/hr on W2 (Approx. $1,771.50/week)
Travel pay: Up to $54/hr including stipend (Approx. $2,025/week)
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Surgical Technologist – Operating Room for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY.
Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms with necessary sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment
Scrub in and assist surgeons during surgical procedures
Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently
Perform surgical counts (instruments, sponges, needles) according to protocol
Handle surgical specimens properly
Assist with patient positioning and transfers
Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between cases
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff to ensure smooth workflow
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience (within the last 4 years) in an acute care facility
Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center or comparable teaching hospital
Strong scrub experience required
Experience in the following specialties:
Orthopedics
General Surgery
ENT
Vascular
GYN
Certification required (CST preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
No history of suspended or investigated professional license/certification
Must pass pre-employment health clearance
