Administrative Director – Women & Children’s Services

Position Overview

A leading acute care hospital in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Administrative Director of Women & Children’s Services to provide executive-level leadership across the Women’s and Children’s service lines.

This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing departmental operations in alignment with the hospital’s mission, nursing philosophy, and strategic growth initiatives. The Director will oversee clinical quality, operational excellence, financial performance, service line expansion, and team development while ensuring patient safety remains the top priority.


Key Responsibilities

Operational & Strategic Leadership

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct all department functions

  • Integrate Women & Children’s services into the hospital’s overall care delivery strategy

  • Lead service line growth initiatives and program development

  • Participate in business development and community outreach

Clinical & Quality Oversight

  • Ensure patient safety and quality outcomes across all departments

  • Maintain and implement quality control and performance improvement programs

  • Develop and revise policies and procedures supporting care delivery

  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice

Staffing & Workforce Management

  • Recommend and maintain appropriate staffing levels

  • Determine staff qualifications and competencies

  • Oversee orientation, in-service training, and continuing education

  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately based on skill level and patient needs

Financial & Resource Management

  • Efficiently manage department finances and resources

  • Recommend space, equipment, and external services as needed

  • Support operational efficiency and cost-effective service delivery

Professional & Community Engagement

  • Participate in hospital committees, town halls, and special projects

  • Promote staff involvement in professional development and research

  • Support health promotion and community education initiatives


Required Qualifications

Education

  • BSN required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field (or other appropriate postgraduate degree) required

Licensure & Certification

  • Active Texas RN License or Compact License

  • National Specialty Certification required

  • AHA BLS certification required

Experience

  • 10 years of recent nursing experience in Women’s Services (Labor & Delivery, NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, etc.)

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a hospital setting
