Enterprise Architect (EA) Consultant

Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid – Remote with onsite Tue–Thu every 3rd week)
Duration: 9 Months

Position Overview

"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking a senior Enterprise Architect (EA) Consultant to lead tactical enterprise architecture execution while designing and standing up a centralized EA Office within a unified Strategy & Governance function. This role combines hands-on solution architecture leadership with governance model design, AI enablement, automation, and PMO/BRM integration.


Key Responsibilities

Tactical Enterprise Architecture (50%)

  • Develop solution intents, ADRs, and reference architectures

  • Establish and enforce cloud, data, integration, security, and AI standards

  • Lead Architecture Review Board (ARB); manage exceptions and technical debt

  • Maintain capability maps and technology roadmaps aligned to business strategy

  • Embed security/privacy-by-design and regulatory compliance

  • Evaluate vendors, software purchases, and system interoperability

  • Oversee CMDB optimization and technology lifecycle governance

  • Partner with executives and business leaders to align IT strategy

EA Office Design & Stand-Up (50%)

  • Define EA Charter, Operating Model, Service Catalog, and RACI

  • Establish demand-to-delivery lifecycle (intake → triage → ARB → delivery checkpoints)

  • Design EA organizational structure (domain architects, analysts)

  • Implement tooling (Power Platform, Power BI, DevOps, artifact repository)

  • Develop compliance, risk, reuse, and benefit realization dashboards

  • Lead change management, adoption, and executive reporting


Shared Services & AI Enablement

  • Standardize and automate intake & triage workflows

  • Establish AI use-case registry, model governance, and prompt libraries

  • Implement data governance guardrails (lineage, catalog, MDM, migration playbooks)

  • Enable PMO automation (stage gates, RAID logs, reporting, Copilot enablement)

  • Develop financial dashboards linking portfolio costs to business outcomes

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technical Sciences

  • 15+ years IT experience (infrastructure, enterprise systems, data architecture)

  • 15+ years in enterprise data architecture, migration, and governance

  • Experience implementing AI and automation in IT governance/processes

  • Strong background in enterprise governance models (procurement, cybersecurity, AI, integrations)

  • Expertise in cloud platforms, SQL, enterprise architecture frameworks

Technical Skills

  • Enterprise/Solution Architecture, ADRs, capability modeling

  • Cloud & Integration (event-driven, IAM)

  • Data & AI governance, ETL/ELT, AI/ML lifecycle, prompt engineering

  • Power Platform, Power BI, M365 Copilot

  • Azure DevOps or Jira; data catalog/lineage tools (e.g., Purview)


Preferred

  • TOGAF, ITIL/COBIT, Azure, SAFe certifications

  • Master’s degree (Technical field)
