Position Overview

"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking a highly experienced Senior .NET Developer – Modernization Lead to drive architectural evolution, modernization initiatives, and delivery resilience across enterprise C#/.NET applications supporting critical business operations.

This role partners closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and technical leadership to design secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will serve as a senior technical voice within an Agile environment, guiding modernization strategy, reducing legacy system risk, and improving performance and operational reliability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design, development, and modernization across C#/.NET applications

  • Own modernization initiatives including legacy refactoring, cloud readiness, and resiliency improvements

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions

  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, coding guidelines, and design patterns

  • Reduce technical debt and systemic risk through structured remediation planning

  • Coordinate cross-team integrations and service interactions

  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and modernization best practices

  • Design and govern secure, scalable RESTful APIs and backend services

  • Lead root-cause analysis for complex production issues and implement long-term solutions

  • Collaborate with QA and DevOps to enhance automation, release quality, and deployment confidence

  • Contribute to operational readiness, monitoring strategies, and production stability

  • Identify and proactively mitigate architectural and delivery risks


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 7+ years of professional experience developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET (Framework and .NET Core / .NET 6+)

  • Proven experience leading architectural decisions in complex or legacy environments

  • Strong expertise in ASP.NET MVC and API-driven architectures

  • Advanced Microsoft SQL Server (2012+) experience, including:

    • Performance tuning

    • Indexing strategies

    • Query optimization

    • Execution plan analysis

    • Deadlock troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy monolithic systems

  • Experience designing secure RESTful APIs with JWT, OAuth, and claims-based authentication

  • Experience implementing structured logging, monitoring, and observability in production environments

  • Strong knowledge of dependency injection, middleware pipelines, async/await, background services, and distributed processing

  • Working knowledge of SPA architecture and modern frontend frameworks (Angular or React)

  • Experience mentoring developers and influencing technical standards in Agile environments

  • Proficiency with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines

  • Ability to identify systemic risk and deliver sustainable technical solutions


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in public-sector or regulated environments (CJIS, HIPAA, FERPA, SOC2, etc.)

  • Experience in matrixed or cross-agency environments

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures

  • Experience leveraging LLMs or automation tools to enhance engineering productivity
