Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Services Unit (Contract)

Location: Ithaca, NY
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule Options:

• Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  OR

• Saturday, Sunday & Monday
  Weekly Hours: 36 Hours (3x12s)

Compensation

• Gross Weekly: $2,430

• W2 Hourly Rate: $25/hr

• Weekly Stipend: $1,568

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Behavioral Services Unit night shift assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment, ensuring safety, stabilization, and therapeutic support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments

• Develop and implement individualized care plans

• Monitor patient safety and respond to crisis situations

• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams

• Provide patient education and emotional support

• Uphold safety protocols and de-escalation techniques

Requirements

• Active New York State RN License

• Minimum 2+ years RN experience

• Behavioral Health experience preferred

• EPIC EMR experience – Required

• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills

• Ability to work independently in a high-acuity behavioral health setting

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)

• ACLS

• PALS
