Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Type: Contract

Shift: Day Shift (Firm Schedule)

  • Hours: 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM

  • Schedule Note: This schedule is non-negotiable. Alternate schedules will not be considered.

  • Call: Required

  • Weekends & Holidays: Required

  • Block Scheduling: Not permitted

Travel Pay Rate: $41-$46/hr


Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist supports surgical teams in a high-acuity operating room environment, providing technical assistance during operative procedures. This role requires strong Level I trauma experience, the ability to perform under pressure, and full schedule flexibility including call, weekends, and holidays.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms with required instruments, supplies, and equipment

  • Assist surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field

  • Anticipate surgical team needs throughout procedures

  • Ensure compliance with sterile technique and infection prevention standards

  • Perform surgical counts and assist with specimen handling

  • Support trauma and emergency surgical procedures

  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia, and OR staff

  • Document procedures per departmental policy

  • Maintain readiness for emergency cases and on-call assignments


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of strong Level I Trauma Surgical Technologist experience

    • Must be clearly documented in work history

  • Experience in a high-volume, acute care OR setting

  • Ability to work a fixed day schedule with on-call responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile technique

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and situational awareness skills

  • Availability for call, weekends, and holidays

  • No block scheduling

  • Must be adaptable to fast-paced, high-stress trauma environments
