A large, high-acuity acute care hospital in the Kansas City metropolitan area is seeking an experienced Director of Women’s Services. The facility is a regional destination for women’s and children’s care and supports advanced maternal, neonatal, and pediatric services.

Level II Trauma Center
Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center
Maternal Fetal Health Center
Multiple Emergency Departments, including a dedicated Pediatric ER

Under the general direction of nursing executive leadership, the Director of Women’s Services provides strategic and operational oversight with 24/7 accountability for assigned women’s health departments.
This leader is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care delivery across Women’s Services. The role requires close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining fiscal responsibility and regulatory compliance.
Experience leading Women’s Services in a high-volume, high-acuity hospital environment is required.
Annual Birth Volume: ~3,500 births

High-acuity Women’s Services environment, including:
Antepartum Unit
Labor & Delivery
Level III NICU
Maternal Fetal Health Center
Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for Women’s Services
Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, high-quality patient care
Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards
Drive patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction initiatives
Manage departmental budgets and financial performance
Optimize staffing models, productivity, and resource utilization
Align departmental operations with organizational goals
Partner with physicians and clinical leaders to enhance outcomes
Foster collaborative relationships across departments
Support service line growth and strategic initiatives
Lead, mentor, and develop nursing leadership and frontline teams
Promote staff engagement, retention, and professional development
Maintain a culture of accountability and clinical excellence
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact license
Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification (or ability to obtain)
Minimum 5 years of RECENT (within the past year) experience as a Manager or Director in Women’s Services within a large hospital setting
Experience in a high-acuity facility with 3,500+ annual births
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Specialty certification in Women’s Services
Experience leading Level III NICU programs
Proven success managing high-volume maternal-child service lines
Hourly Range (Based on Experience):
Minimum: $48.04/hr
Midpoint: $60.05/hr
Maximum: $72.05/hr
Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
