Important Submission Requirements

Facility Setting

• Medium-security male correctional facility

• Multiple vendors may be awarded

• All shifts/hours may be available

• Holidays optional (not required)

Position Summary

The Correctional RN provides direct and indirect patient care within a secure correctional environment. This role requires strong assessment skills, medication administration experience, and the ability to respond to emergencies while maintaining safety and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct sick call and triage inmate health complaints

• Administer medications, including insulin

• Perform intake screenings and health assessments

• Maintain and update inmate health records

• Respond to medical emergencies (Narcan administration, asthma rescue, trauma, physical force injuries)

• Handle emergency room referrals when appropriate

• Complete screening and reporting requirements, including sexual abuse/assault documentation

• Provide care for employee accidents/injuries

• Support administrative processes related to inmate death

• Maintain tool control and adhere to correctional security protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Correctional or high-acuity nursing experience preferred

• Strong triage and emergency response skills

• Ability to work within a structured, secure environment
