Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Location: Utica, NY 13502
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (10-Hour Shifts)
Compensation:
Local Pay: $56–$61 per hour
Travel Pay: $66–$71 per hour
10-hour shifts (9.5 working hours + 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Variable start times: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
On-call requirement: Minimum of 7 days per 4-week schedule
Includes 5 weekday nights
Minimum of 1 weekend
Based on staffing and departmental needs
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Utica, NY. This role requires strong clinical expertise in cardiovascular surgical procedures and the ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment.
Provide direct patient care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room setting
Circulate and/or scrub during cardiovascular surgical procedures
Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments and ensure surgical readiness
Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards
Monitor patients intraoperatively and respond promptly to changes in condition
Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical technologists
Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
Participate in on-call coverage and respond to emergent surgical cases
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and professional standards
Assist with patient transfer and provide post-operative handoff communication
Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s degree or higher)
Active New York State RN license
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
