  • Salary Range:

    • Minimum: $36.43/hr

    • Mid (10 years experience): $45.54/hr

    • Maximum (15+ years experience): $51.00/hr

Position Overview

A large, multi-campus acute care healthcare system in the Coastal Bend region of Texas is seeking an experienced Manager of Labor & Delivery (RN) to lead daily operations of a high-volume Women’s Services department.

The Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of staffing, clinical practice, operational performance, and team engagement within the Labor & Delivery unit. This role supports facility objectives by holding staff accountable for clinical excellence, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Facility Overview (Client Name Confidential)

This 630+ bed healthcare system serves Corpus Christi and surrounding communities and includes multiple acute care hospitals, specialty cardiac services, behavioral health services, emergency centers, and oncology programs. The Women’s Center includes a NICU and supports graduate medical education programs.

Unit Overview

  • 19 Labor beds

  • 5 OB ED beds

  • 3 Surgical Suites

  • 80 FTEs

  • On-call administrative coverage for Postpartum / Antepartum / L&D every third week (phone/emergency support coverage)

  • Reports to: Director of Women’s Services

  • Position Status: Backfill

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and staffing of the Labor & Delivery unit.

  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.

  • Promote high standards of patient safety, quality outcomes, and service excellence.

  • Lead staffing optimization, scheduling, and productivity management.

  • Support professional development, coaching, and performance management of nursing staff.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient throughput and clinical outcomes.

  • Participate in administrative on-call rotation as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma (Required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

  • Active Texas RN License (or compact eligibility)

  • 1+ year of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in Labor & Delivery (Required)
