Salary Range: $123,448 – $185,182 (based on years of experience)
Incentive Bonus: 17.5%

A large, high-acuity acute care hospital in Las Vegas is seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead a comprehensive surgical services division. This executive leader will be responsible for overseeing operational, clinical, financial, and strategic functions across multiple perioperative departments, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
The Director will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence while supporting the hospital’s mission and long-term growth strategy.
Reports to: VP of Surgical Services & Chief Operating Officer
Oversight of: OR, CVOR, Endoscopy, Anesthesia Technicians, Sterile Processing (SPD), and OR Environmental Services
Direct Reports: 3 Managers
Total FTEs: 167
23 Operating Rooms
18,000+ surgical cases annually (60–80 cases per day)
~45% of surgical volume through Emergency Department
~30+ daily transfers from outlying facilities

Drive implementation of evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
Ensure adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and legal standards.
Manage clinical practice variation to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
Ensure equipment maintenance and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Optimize patient throughput through forecasting, flow coordination, and discharge planning.
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and competency-based staffing models.
Lead initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and overall experience.
Utilize benchmarking data and feedback to implement service improvements.
Collaborate with patient experience teams to drive measurable improvements.
Foster a culture aligned with organizational mission and values.
Drive employee engagement, retention, and professional development.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
Ensure appropriate talent placement and succession planning.
Partner with physicians and executive leadership to expand and enhance service lines.
Identify growth opportunities, technology advancements, and market differentiation strategies.
Support outreach initiatives and service expansion efforts.
Lead annual budgeting process, including revenue forecasting, staffing plans, and capital planning.
Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions for variances.
Optimize labor productivity and manage premium pay utilization.
Identify cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality care delivery.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Preferred)
Minimum 1+ year of recent acute care Director of Surgical Services experience (Required)
Minimum 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in acute care Surgical Services (Required)
Active RN licensure (Nevada or compact state eligibility)
