Position Overview

A leading healthcare facility in Aventura, Florida is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health (RN) to provide clinical and operational leadership for the Behavioral Health unit. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

The Nurse Manager will oversee daily unit operations, lead nursing staff, drive performance improvement initiatives, and foster a collaborative and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily operations of the Behavioral Health unit.

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to nursing and support staff.

  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.

  • Develop and manage staffing plans, scheduling, and productivity targets.

  • Monitor quality indicators, patient safety outcomes, and satisfaction metrics.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care.

  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and staff development.

  • Manage departmental budget, resources, and operational efficiency.

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and implement evidence-based practices.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and patient-centered care.


Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida or compact state).

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing experience.

  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience in a hospital setting.

  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health regulations, patient safety standards, and crisis intervention practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

  • Experience managing inpatient Behavioral Health services.

  • Proven track record of improving quality outcomes and team engagement.
