The RN Manager – Mother/Baby is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and directing all unit functions to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Mother/Baby unit. This role collaborates with the leadership team to develop policies, procedures, and strategies to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The Manager will provide leadership and mentorship to the nursing team, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
Unit Beds: 22
Average Daily Census: 15 patients
FTEs Supervised: 29.5
Direct Reports: RNs, Unit Secretaries, CNAs
Reports to: Director of Women’s Services
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Mother/Baby unit to ensure quality patient care.
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures to maintain compliance and improve outcomes.
Monitor patient care delivery, workflow, and staff performance to maintain high-quality standards.
Provide supervision, coaching, and mentorship to a tenured nursing staff.
Promote teamwork, professional growth, and staff engagement.
Ensure staffing levels align with patient volume and acuity.
Maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Support a patient-centered environment to enhance the overall patient experience.
Assist in budget monitoring and resource allocation for the unit.
Optimize staffing and operational efficiencies while maintaining high-quality care standards.
Licensure: Current RN license in Georgia or multi-state/compact RN license
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Certifications:
BLS and ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross) required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 60 days if not currently certified
Experience:
3+ years recent RN experience in women’s services (acute care)
1+ year supervisory/leadership experience in Mother/Baby or postpartum care
