A leading 267-bed acute care hospital serving Florida’s Emerald Coast is seeking dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses (RNs) to join its high-performing team.

This hospital is recognized for quality outcomes and offers advanced services including a Primary Stroke Center, comprehensive cancer care, open-heart surgery, critical care services, and multiple emergency departments including pediatric and freestanding ER locations. Unit Overview

  • Unit Size: 28 Private Beds

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Up to 1:6

  • Reports To: Nurse Manager

  • Collaborative interdisciplinary team environment

Position Summary

As a Medical-Surgical RN, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with professional nursing standards and departmental expectations. You will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.

The RN serves as a patient advocate and plays a key role in ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes and patient experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and during each shift.

  • Monitor patient condition and promptly report any changes.

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for therapeutic effectiveness.

  • Perform procedures and other clinical interventions as ordered.

  • Document all patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.

  • Respond quickly to patient requests and anticipate care needs.

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions in clear, understandable terms.

  • Collaborate with care team members to ensure coordinated and efficient care delivery.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida or Compact State) required

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required (acute care experience not required)

  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
