Sterile Processing Technician (Travel Contract)
Location: Hyannis, MA
Shift: Evenings | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Rotating weekends/holidays; on-call as needed)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Travel Compensation: $1,337.50 per week
Schedule: 40 hours per week


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians and Aides for a 13-week travel assignment in a high-volume surgical environment. This role is responsible for the full sterile processing cycle, including decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform decontamination, sorting, disassembly, and disinfection of surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate PPE and established protocols

  • Assemble instrument trays according to count sheets; inspect for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness

  • Select and operate appropriate sterilization methods (Steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris) and document biological testing results

  • Operate and maintain SPD equipment, including cart washers, washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and heat sealers

  • Manage inventory control, supply ordering/receiving, and maintain physician preference cards

  • Store and distribute sterile supplies while ensuring quality standards and timely delivery

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment


Qualifications

Sterile Processing Aide Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Medical Terminology knowledge

  • Completion of Anatomy & Physiology course OR SPD certification OR 3 years of recent SPD experience

Sterile Processing Technician I Requirements:

  • Meets SPD Aide qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of SPD Aide experience

  • Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification
