Job Title: NICU Manager – Neonatal Intensive Care

Schedule: Evenings | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Flexible 4x10s available)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: $115,000 – $150,000 annually
Bonus: Sign-On Bonus up to $15,000

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced NICU Manager to oversee a high-acuity Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a 360+ bed multi-specialty hospital in Austin, TX.
This NICU features:
97 beds
Average daily census of 75
150 FTEs
This leadership role is ideal for a proven neonatal nurse leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, driving operational excellence, and mentoring clinical teams in a high-volume children’s hospital environment.
Oversee daily NICU operations, staffing, and evidence-based patient care delivery
Manage admissions, discharges, and interdisciplinary coordination
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to accreditation standards
Implement initiatives to enhance patient safety, quality outcomes, and staff accountability
Drive patient experience excellence through feedback analysis and service recovery
Lead staff development, scheduling, education, and performance management
Manage departmental budgets, productivity, and cost control
Ensure proper equipment maintenance and operational readiness
BSN required; MSN preferred
3–5+ years of acute care experience
Minimum 2+ years in a NICU supervisory or charge nurse role
Current Texas RN license (or Compact eligible; TX license required within 6 months)
AHA BLS required; ACLS and/or NRP preferred
Specialty certification required within 6 months of hire
Strong Charge Nurse/CNN NICU candidates will be considered
