Pay & Incentives

  • Entry Level: $27.72/hour

  • 5 Years’ Experience: $33.00/hour

  • 10 Years’ Experience: $36.30/hour

  • 15 Years’ Experience: $39.60/hour

  • Night Shift Differential: $4.00/hour

  • Sign-On Bonus:

    • $10,000 (Days)

    • $15,000 (Nights)

  • Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis

A 238-bed acute care hospital serving its community for over 40 years is seeking experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMCU) Registered Nurses. The facility provides comprehensive, accredited care and is recognized for a broad range of advanced services, including:

  • Advanced cardiac assessment and treatment

  • Certified women’s services

  • Dedicated adult and pediatric emergency care

  • Advanced Primary Stroke Certification

  • Comprehensive breast care services

  • Accredited chest pain program with Primary PCI and resuscitation capabilities

  • Orthopedic and joint replacement services

  • Robotic-assisted surgery

  • Cardiac, vascular, and interventional services

  • The only pediatric emergency department in the community

  • The only Level III NICU and Pediatric ICU in the region


Position Summary

The PCU/IMCU Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, patient-centered care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients requiring intermediate or step-down monitoring. This role provides both pre-operative and post-operative nursing care while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition upon admission and throughout each shift; report changes promptly

  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses

  • Perform nursing procedures and interventions as ordered

  • Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record

  • Maintain knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical medications, equipment, and procedures

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe, effective patient care


Qualifications

Required

  • 1 year of recent (within the last year) acute care PCU experience

    • Will consider:

      • Recent acute care ER RN experience OR

      • 3 years of recent acute Med-Surg experience

  • Active Florida RN license or approved multistate compact license

    • (Florida RN license required within 60 days of relocation if compact license held)

  • RN Diploma or Associate Degree required

  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire

  • ACLS certification required within 60 days of hire


Additional Details

  • Unit Size: 24 beds

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 preferred (1:5 maximum)

  • Position Status: Open 6+ months due to expansion and turnover
