Position Overview

A well-established healthcare system in eastern North Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department for a dedicated weekend position. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is comfortable working variable and night shifts.

The Emergency Department RN will provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment to patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid triage, assessment, and prioritization of emergency patients.

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions.

  • Monitor patient status and respond quickly to clinical changes.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams in trauma and critical situations.

  • Provide patient and family education during emergency care and discharge.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and quality protocols.

Compensation

Base Pay (Experienced & New Graduate RNs)

  • $33.00 – $54.45 per hour

Paid-in-Lieu-of-Benefits (PLB) Option

  • Full-Time: 30% added to base rate

  • Part-Time: 20% added to base rate

PLB teammates are eligible for shift differentials and pay-for-performance awards but are not eligible for PTO accrual or participation in the benefit program.

Relocation Incentive (2-Year Commitment)

  • 50–250 miles: $2,500

  • 251–500 miles: $5,000

  • 501+ miles: $10,000

Commitment / Retention Incentives

New Graduate RNs – Total $15,000 (3 Years)

  • Upon Hire: $1,000

  • 90 Days: $1,000

  • 6 Months: $2,000

  • 1 Year: $4,000

  • 2 Years: $7,000

Patient Facing – NIGHTS

  • 3 Years: $25,000

  • 4 Years: $35,000

  • Payment Schedule:

    • 6 Months: $1,500

    • 1 Year: $3,500

    • 2 Years: $8,000

    • 3 Years: $12,000

    • 4 Years: $10,000

Inpatient NIGHTS (Selected Units & Float Pool)

  • 3 Years: $30,000

  • 4 Years: $40,000

  • Payment Schedule:

    • 6 Months: $1,500

    • 1 Year: $4,500

    • 2 Years: $10,000

    • 3 Years: $14,000

    • 4 Years: $10,000

Education Requirements

Required:

  • Nursing Diploma
    OR

  • ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

  • BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing

Certifications & Licensure

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of North Carolina

  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
