Position Summary:

A leading acute care healthcare organization in Ferry Pass, Florida is seeking an experienced Administrative Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department. This leader will oversee clinical quality, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and staff development while ensuring exceptional patient-centered emergency care.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in high-volume emergency settings and a proven ability to drive operational excellence and performance improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operations

  • Provide strategic direction and administrative oversight for Emergency Services.

  • Ensure efficient departmental operations, patient throughput, and resource utilization.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.

Clinical Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.

  • Monitor quality metrics, patient safety indicators, and satisfaction scores.

  • Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes and emergency department performance.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage department budgets.

  • Monitor productivity, staffing ratios, and cost containment strategies.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate department leadership and staff.

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

  • Support professional development and succession planning.

Community & Physician Relations

  • Collaborate with physicians, EMS, and community partners.

  • Support trauma, stroke, and emergency preparedness initiatives.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Active RN license (if clinically required by facility).

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in Emergency Services.

  • Experience managing high-volume emergency departments.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • Proven financial and operational management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, or related).

  • Trauma center leadership experience.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other performance improvement methodologies.
