Cardiology Diagnostic Technician

Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 hours per week (Evenings/Nights)

  • Evening Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

  • Night Shift: 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM

  • Rotating weekends and holidays

  • Pay Rate: $34 – $37.50 per hour


Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Cardiology Diagnostic Technician to provide high-quality patient care through specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, clinical competency, and a commitment to service excellence in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and collect other clinical specimens; ensure proper transport to the laboratory.

  • Positively identify patients prior to specimen collection and educate patients on proper collection procedures.

  • Conduct non-invasive cardiac testing including:

    • EKGs

    • Holter Monitor placement

    • Cardiac Stress Testing

  • Complete all required laboratory forms at time of service.

  • Document testing and specimen collection in hospital information systems and departmental logs.

  • Ensure accurate cardiac test ordering and billing information.

  • Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding patient orders, workflow changes, and technical issues.

  • Maintain compliance with PPE and infection control policies.

  • Assist nursing units with specimen collection and test requirements.

  • Train and mentor staff and clinical students as directed by leadership.

  • Support quality assurance initiatives and recommend process improvements.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve specimen collection issues; escalate when necessary.

  • Maintain testing and work areas in clean and sanitary condition.

  • Monitor inventory, manage supplies, and restock as needed.

  • Participate in mandatory meetings and continuing education.

  • Deliver exceptional service to patients, families, and healthcare teams.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Medical Terminology course completion or challenge exam required

  • BLS Certification required

  • PBT (ASCP) Certification Eligible preferred

  • Acute care hospital experience preferred

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
