Available Shifts:

  • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Summary

A hospital in New York is seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to provide advanced ECG monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation. The ideal candidate will continuously monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms, identify life-threatening arrhythmias, and respond appropriately to alarms and emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous ECG/EKG monitoring with accurate rhythm interpretation

  • Analyze ECG strips and recognize dysrhythmias

  • Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes

  • Initiate code procedures and document cardiac rhythms during emergencies

  • Perform electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement

  • Troubleshoot monitoring equipment and resolve technical issues

  • Communicate critical findings promptly to charge nurses and physicians

  • Enter and verify physician orders in the electronic system

  • Retrieve and report laboratory results to appropriate clinical staff

  • Ensure documentation complies with organizational and regulatory standards

  • Safely operate and manage telemetry and monitoring equipment

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong ECG rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Certifications & Licensure

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross (must be current within 1 year)

  • Dysrhythmia Course Certification – Required
