$35.65 – $47.64/hr
(Maximum rate typically considered for candidates with ~18 years of experience)

A large, Level I Trauma acute-care hospital serving the Kansas City metropolitan area. The facility provides comprehensive services including emergency care, orthopedic services, neuro and stroke care, cardiovascular services, women’s health, and specialized trauma programs across multiple campuses.
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to support an Ortho/Neuro Trauma unit. This role functions as the Charge Registered Nurse, providing shift-based clinical leadership, coordinating patient care, and supporting unit operations to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered outcomes. The CNC works closely with nursing leadership to promote clinical excellence, staff engagement, and operational efficiency.
Note: Candidates must be comfortable working with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Coordinate and oversee patient care activities during assigned shifts
Serve as a clinical and operational resource for nursing staff
Support admissions, discharges, and patient flow management
Monitor quality indicators and unit performance outcomes
Assist with service recovery and patient experience initiatives
Support staff scheduling and labor management activities
Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations
Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures
Assist with supply, inventory, and equipment management
Strong, current acute care Med-Surg experience (required)
Charge RN experience preferred OR minimum 2+ years recent Med-Surg RN experience
Med-Surg experience must be recent (older experience not considered)
Active RN license (Missouri or Compact)
BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)
ACLS certification (within 30 days of hire)
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
BSN preferred, not required
Acute care hospital Med-Surg background (mandatory)
Ortho, Neuro, or Trauma experience preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and clinical judgment skills
Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
