Location - Washington, DC

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the end-to-end definition and delivery of data access management capabilities. This role focuses on designing intuitive, secure, and compliant access workflows that balance usability, governance, and security. The Product Manager will collaborate across multiple IT teams to deliver scalable, workflow-driven solutions supporting diverse user personas.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for data access management solutions

  • Define and deliver core workflows for requesting, approving, granting, reviewing, and revoking access to data

  • Partner closely with engineering, business, data governance, security, and compliance teams to gather requirements and drive execution

  • Translate ambiguous and complex stakeholder inputs into clear product direction, priorities, and specifications

  • Lead product discovery efforts including user research, journey mapping, and workflow design

  • Deeply understand user needs across multiple personas such as data owners, data stewards, access requesters, and approvers

  • Own and manage the product backlog, including writing, refining, and prioritizing user stories in an agile environment

  • Collaborate with engineering teams on APIs, integrations, and foundational platform capabilities

  • Balance short-term delivery goals with long-term platform scalability and architectural considerations

  • Define success metrics and continuously improve the product using usage data and user feedback

  • Communicate product vision, progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing complex, workflow-driven products or services

  • Experience delivering products that span multiple user personas and systems

  • Strong understanding of data access management, data governance, or identity and access management (IAM) concepts

  • Hands-on knowledge of access control models, including RBAC and ABAC

  • Demonstrated ability to gather and synthesize ambiguous requirements from diverse stakeholder groups

  • Strong experience working in Agile environments, owning backlogs and delivering incremental value

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to influence without direct authority and explain complex concepts clearly


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with or integrating access management platforms, such as entitlement systems, approval workflows, policy engines, or identity providers

  • Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments

  • Familiarity with security, compliance, or governance-driven product ecosystems
