Shift: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
Hours: 36 hours per week
Schedule Requirements: Every 3rd weekend, holidays as needed, on-call required

  • Local: $2,001 per week

  • Travel: $2,452.95 per week


Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and strict adherence to departmental, regulatory, and organizational standards.


Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations by accurately positioning patients, utilizing immobilization devices, and selecting appropriate technical factors.

  • Operate and select radiographic equipment required for specific diagnostic procedures.

  • Apply radiation safety principles, including proper collimation and shielding, to minimize patient exposure.

  • Conduct portable radiographic exams in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency departments.

  • Correctly identify and label all radiographic images with patient information, exam number, and anatomical side.

  • Process exposed images using approved imaging or film development methods.

  • Complete imaging requisitions accurately, including technologist identification, dates, and image details.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms and equipment.

  • Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians during procedures as needed.

  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, patient instruction, record maintenance, image filing, and reception.

  • Assist patients with positioning, transfers, and mobility based on individual physical needs.

  • Meet physical job requirements, including standing for extended periods and lifting/pushing equipment as required.

  • Provide patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations, accounting for age, culture, language, and physical or sensory limitations.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers at appropriate developmental and educational levels.

  • Comply with all organizational policies, safety standards, and competency requirements.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting

  • Required experience includes:

    • Emergency Department

    • Trauma imaging

    • Operating Room (OR) procedures

    • Portable imaging

    • Pediatric radiography

  • Ability to work independently in high-acuity environments


Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program

  • Completion of required clinical training and ARRT eligibility requirements


Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License (required)

  • Must be eligible for and successfully pass the ARRT certification exam
