Job Title: SPED Teacher Assistant / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – K–2 Autism Program
Location: Lovettsville, VA
Position Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:50 AM – 3:40 PM (6.83 hours/day)
Contract Length: 18 weeks
Pay Rate: Up to $25/hour
Weekly Pay: Up to $853.75

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher Assistant or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support a K–2 Autism program in an elementary school setting. This role primarily involves one-on-one support for a kindergarten student who demonstrates challenging behaviors within the classroom and school environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with behavior management, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for supporting students with special needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to students in a K–2 Autism classroom

  • Deliver one-on-one assistance to a kindergarten student with challenging behaviors

  • Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports

  • Assist the special education teacher with instructional and classroom activities

  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development

  • Collect and document behavioral and progress data as required

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school-based staff

  • Adhere to all school policies and special education regulations

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with students with autism or special needs preferred

  • Advanced Behavior Training required

  • RBT certification strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain)

  • Proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

  • Patient, reliable, and student-focused approach

  • Ability to meet all school district background and compliance requirements
