Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Job Type: Contract
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Pay Rate: $40–$43 per hour (based on experience)


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services in acute care and outpatient hospital settings. This role focuses on improving patients’ functional abilities through thorough evaluation, individualized treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate closely with physicians, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, patients, and families to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.


Responsibilities

  • Administer occupational therapy treatments as prescribed by a physician

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment goals and care plans

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Educate patients and family members on therapy goals, progress, and home strategies

  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports accurately and timely

  • Participate in clinical rounds, conferences, and designated therapy clinics

  • Maintain therapy equipment and supplies in safe and proper working condition

  • Participate in staff education and training programs as required

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and clinical protocols


Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy

  • Active New York State Occupational Therapy license or license-eligible

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of occupational therapy experience

  • Required experience in acute care and outpatient clinical settings


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical evaluation and treatment planning skills

  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced healthcare environments

  • Excellent documentation, organizational, and time-management skills

  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities

  • Professional and compassionate interaction with patients and families

  • Knowledge of occupational therapy best practices and standards of care
