System Software Programmer – Project Lead (Senior Rhapsody Developer)

Location: Remote
Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week)


Position Overview

"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking a Senior Rhapsody Integration Developer / Project Lead to support a large-scale public health and laboratory data integration initiative focused on advanced molecular detection and whole genome sequencing. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and solution ownership.

The ideal candidate is self-directed, highly technical, and experienced in leading complex healthcare integrations using the Rhapsody Integration Engine. This individual will serve as a technical lead, guiding architecture decisions, development standards, testing strategies, and deployment activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical and project lead for system integration initiatives

  • Lead requirements gathering, solution design, and technical documentation

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Rhapsody routes and configurations

  • Convert and modernize legacy integrations following best practices

  • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to team members

  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders

  • Provide accurate estimates, milestone planning, and status reporting

  • Support testing, validation, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-go-live support

  • Ensure system performance, reliability, scalability, and business continuity

  • Participate in on-call or off-hours support as required for critical systems


Technical Responsibilities

  • Develop and automate integration processes, ETL workflows, and data pipelines

  • Create and maintain system documentation and architecture diagrams

  • Perform advanced SQL development including complex joins

  • Transform and parse multiple data formats:

    • HL7 (v2.x – ORU, ORM)

    • XML, CSV, SOAP, XSD, XPath

  • Develop integrations using:

    • Rhapsody v6+

    • Symphonia Mapping Language (SML)

    • JavaScript (ECMA / E4X)

  • Implement and consume secure web services

  • Monitor and optimize data flow using Rhapsody management tools

  • Debug, troubleshoot, reprocess errors, and improve performance

  • Support environment upgrades, migrations, and configuration changes

  • Assist with onboarding data partners and providers for:

    • Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR)

    • Electronic Test Orders & Results (ETOR)

    • Electronic Case Reporting (eCR)

    • Inter-partner data exchange

  • Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and regulatory standards


Required Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience


Required Certification

  • Rhapsody Certification (must be listed on resume)


Required Skills (Ranked by Importance)

  • 5+ years Rhapsody Integration Engine (v6+)

  • 5+ years Symphonia Mapping Language (SML)

  • 5+ years HL7 v2.x (ORU / ORM message types)

  • 5+ years JavaScript

  • 3+ years Advanced SQL (complex joins)

  • 2+ years XML / XSD / XPath

  • 2+ years SOAP Web Services

  • Windows Server Administration

  • Public Health, Disease Surveillance, or LIMS systems

  • Excel automation, VBA, Power Automate

  • LOINC and SNOMED terminology
