Position Overview

A healthcare facility in Manhattan, NY is seeking an experienced Telemetry Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring and advanced ECG interpretation in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is critical in identifying cardiac rhythm abnormalities and responding promptly to potentially life-threatening changes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous ECG monitoring and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias

  • Analyze ECG strips and promptly identify abnormal or life-threatening rhythm changes

  • Initiate and assist during emergency codes, including rhythm documentation during events

  • Respond appropriately to monitor alarms and troubleshoot monitoring issues

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with correct electrode placement in various care settings

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Enter, verify, and manage orders within the electronic medical record system

  • Retrieve laboratory results and report critical values to nursing leadership

  • Ensure documentation complies with organizational policies and regulatory standards

  • Safely manage, operate, and maintain telemetry and monitoring equipment

Required Certifications & Credentials

  • Telemetry Technician / Monitor Technician Certification

  • EKG Certification (Required)

  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Telemetry Technician or Monitor Technician

  • Strong proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia recognition

  • Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
