Special Education Teacher – ID / Multiple Disabilities (MD)
Location: Leesburg, VA
Contract Duration: 27 Weeks

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Weekly Hours: 37.5 (30-minute meal break)
Pay Rate: $35–$50/hour
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,312.50–$1,875.00

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a Multiple Disabilities (MD) program serving middle school students. The role supports students with complex medical needs, limited mobility, and adaptive/self-care requirements. Fully licensed candidates are preferred; Long-Term Substitute (LTS) candidates will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals for ID/MD students

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Support students with medical needs, mobility limitations, and self-care skills

  • Provide adaptive, functional, and life-skills instruction

  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, medical staff, and administrators

  • Implement appropriate instructional and behavior management strategies

  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring records

  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and school policies

  • Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams

  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License (preferred)

  • Long-Term Substitute (LTS) candidates will be considered

  • Experience with Multiple Disabilities (MD) or Intellectual Disabilities (ID) preferred

  • Experience supporting students with medical, mobility, and adaptive/self-care needs

  • Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills
