The System Director of Case Management is responsible for assisting with the planning, direction, organization, monitoring, and staffing of the Case Management Department in alignment with organizational policies, budgets, objectives, and regulatory requirements. This role provides oversight of case management, discharge planning, and utilization review activities while ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
The System Director provides leadership, guidance, and operational oversight to management, medical staff, clinical teams, and support services to promote effective, organization-wide case management practices. This position also supports regulatory compliance initiatives and performance improvement efforts related to case management services.
Assist senior leadership with overall departmental operations to ensure delivery of comprehensive case management services in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Provide leadership and oversight for case management, discharge planning, and utilization review processes
Support strategic planning initiatives related to care coordination, service design, and departmental development
Coordinate and oversee organization-wide case management services
Continuously assess, measure, and improve departmental performance and outcomes
Ensure responsible management and allocation of departmental resources
Demonstrate clinical, technical, and managerial competency
Support staff development and ensure professional needs are met
Lead, mentor, and inspire staff while modeling organizational behavioral standards
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Montana
Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a high-volume case management program within a hospital or clinic setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing, MBA, or related field
Case management leadership experience in a high-volume healthcare setting
Strong leadership and management skills, including planning, delegation, performance monitoring, and improvement
Sound judgment, professionalism, and emotional intelligence in high-pressure environments
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and stressful healthcare setting
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities
Ability to exercise discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills
Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer applications, including MS Office, EMR systems, and internet-based tools
Ability to work varied shifts as required
