Mammography Technologist – Permanent
Location- Craig, CO
Pay Range - $73,000 to $90,000 Yearly
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures for diagnostic interpretation while ensuring patient safety, education, and comfort. This role supports regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and efficient workflow within breast imaging services.
Perform mammography imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and radiologist instructions.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of mammography imaging techniques and breast imaging standards.
Practice radiation safety in compliance with ALARA principles.
Operate imaging equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
Verify exam orders and confirm patient identity using two identifiers.
Educate patients regarding procedures, positioning, and expectations.
Review and document patient medical history and obtain informed consent as required.
Ensure all necessary documentation, prior imaging, and paperwork are complete before submitting exams for interpretation.
Accurately document procedures, charges, and supplies in the electronic health record (EHR).
Manage daily operations of the women’s health imaging area.
Ensure adherence to all applicable mammography regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Maintain accurate records for accreditation reviews, inspections, and audits.
Oversee structured reporting systems to support audit accuracy, statistical tracking, and workflow optimization.
Complete daily quality assurance checks and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
Identify opportunities for quality improvement, workflow enhancements, and procedural updates.
Coordinate training and development related to breast imaging specialties.
Troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and coordinate service support when needed.
Order, stock, and maintain imaging supply inventory.
Assist with clerical duties, phone coverage, and patient transport as required.
Support, train, or cross-train imaging staff as directed.
Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other imaging modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
Obtain additional training or certifications as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain professionalism and represent the organization positively at all times.
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, staff, and vendors.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Comply with attendance, dress code, and workplace policies.
Complete all required annual training, education, and competency requirements.
Participate in departmental meetings, performance improvement, and quality initiatives.
Follow all infection control, safety, and risk management policies.
Ensure compliance with departmental, facility, state, and federal regulations.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to successfully complete background screening and pre-employment health requirements.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Active ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
Two (2) years of experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist.
Experience in additional modalities such as CT, MRI, or DEXA preferred.
Experience using PACS, RIS, and electronic health record systems.
