Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care

Location: Great Falls, MT
Position Type: Full-Time 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care to provide direct patient care to adult medical and surgical patients requiring advanced monitoring in an inpatient hospital setting. This role supports patients with complex clinical needs, including those requiring ventilatory support and invasive monitoring.

The RN functions with a high level of clinical autonomy, acts as a clinical leader, and supports team development through mentoring and precepting. Responsibilities span the full continuum of care from admission through discharge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity medical/surgical patients

  • Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced hemodynamic and respiratory support

  • Operate advanced medical equipment, including:

    • Arterial lines (A-lines)

    • Central and peripheral IV lines

    • Multiple IV infusion pumps

    • Chest tubes

    • Ventilators

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement care plans in accordance with established policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, and leadership to ensure safe and effective patient care

  • Assist with discharge planning and patient/family education

  • Act as a clinical leader and preceptor for nursing staff as assigned

  • Provide guidance and direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support staff including housekeeping and dietary services

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience

  • Recent Critical Care nursing experience required

  • Experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical or acute care inpatient setting required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Montana

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required

  • Preferred certifications:

    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

    • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
