Pay Range: $64000 - $100000 Per Year
The Professional Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care within the Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology (EP), and Interventional specialty laboratories. This role requires advanced clinical knowledge, critical judgment, and technical expertise to support diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and neuro-interventional procedures. The RN functions independently during procedures and collaborates closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Note: Candidates must have Cath Lab, ICU, CVICU, or IMC experience. New graduates and Med/Surg-only backgrounds will not be considered.
Prepare procedure rooms and patient care areas to ensure safe and efficient operations
Review patient charts, labs, and consents prior to procedures and communicate abnormalities to providers
Prepare and monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure
Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac, EP, vascular, structural heart, and neuro-interventional procedures
Perform circulating RN duties independently during procedures
Administer procedural sedation in accordance with organizational policies
Participate in procedural safety checks, including Time Out/Full Stop processes
Accurately document patient care, handoffs, and procedures in electronic medical records and cardiology documentation systems
Operate specialized cardiology and imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and intracardiac ultrasound
Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment with attention to patient comfort and privacy
Participate in orientation and preceptorship of new staff
Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing education and competency requirements
Respond to on-call requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
Peripheral vascular interventions and EVAR
Electrophysiology procedures (ablations, EP studies, pacemaker and ICD insertions/revisions, loop recorders)
Structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO)
Interventional neurology procedures (carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy, aneurysm embolization, TCAR)
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required within 36 months of hire (if not already obtained)
Licensure & Certifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Experience:
Required: ICU, CVICU, IMC, or Cath Lab experience
Preferred: Direct experience in a Cardiovascular and EP Lab setting
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Prior experience in cardiovascular, electrophysiology, or interventional labs
Strong proficiency in hemodynamics, EP systems, and fluoroscopy
