The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of daily unit operations, staffing, and clinical practice. This role ensures nursing care is provided in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards while supporting quality outcomes, staff engagement, and organizational goals.
Lead and oversee daily ICU operations, ensuring safe staffing and high-quality patient care
Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety, quality outcomes, and clinical excellence
Promote adherence to standards of care, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
Support initiatives to reduce variation in clinical practice while improving efficiency, effectiveness, and cost management
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Support achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and quality designations
Ensure equipment maintenance and readiness in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to support efficient throughput and patient-centered care
Facilitate effective interdisciplinary collaboration across departments
Assign staff based on patient acuity and clinical competency
Monitor and evaluate nursing practice to ensure patient and family needs are consistently met
Lead efforts to deliver an exceptional patient experience through staff engagement and accountability
Inspire team commitment to organizational mission, vision, and values
Manage staff scheduling and productivity in alignment with patient care needs
Oversee unit operating expenses, supply utilization, and cost-saving initiatives
Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
Recent (within the last year) acute care leadership experience in a Critical Care environment, meeting one of the following:
Manager: 2+ years
Supervisor: 3+ years
Charge RN: 5+ years
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted if currently enrolled in a BSN program
BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire
