Local Candidates: Up to $45.00/hour (W2), based on experience
Travel Candidates: Competitive pay packages including tax-free stipends for housing, meals, and incidentals (for those residing outside a 50-mile radius)
A large academic medical center in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support the Adult Operating Room. This role requires a highly skilled surgical technologist capable of scrubbing complex procedures in a fast-paced, high-acuity teaching environment. The CST will maintain a sterile field and assist surgeons across multiple adult surgical specialties.
Provide expert scrub support for a wide range of adult surgical cases, including Trauma, Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, Vascular, Gynecology, Bariatric, and Neurosurgery
Prepare and organize sterile fields, surgical instrumentation, and equipment for complex procedures
Maintain strict aseptic technique and support the surgical team with minimal supervision
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers in a high-volume operating room
Certification: Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent OR experience (within the past 4 years) in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center or comparable large teaching hospital
Clinical Expertise: Strong experience in Orthopedics, Trauma, Vascular, and General Surgery
Compliance: No history of professional license or certification investigation or suspension; must successfully complete pre-employment health clearance
Travel Candidates: First-time travelers considered only with extensive experience in facilities of similar size and acuity
Flexibility is required to work both 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
First Assist duties are not permitted for this role in accordance with New York State regulations.
