  • Schedule: 5 × 8-hour shifts

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $30–$40 Locals / Traveller: $40-$50 (Hourly Rates, based on experience)


Job Summary

We are seeking a Cardiac Monitor Technician to provide continuous and accurate ECG monitoring. The role involves advanced ECG strip analysis, arrhythmia interpretation, and rapid identification of potentially life-threatening rhythm changes. The technician will respond appropriately to alarms, assist during emergency situations, and collaborate closely with the clinical care team to support patient safety and quality care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous ECG monitoring and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias

  • Identify abnormal or life-threatening rhythm changes and immediately notify appropriate clinical staff

  • Initiate and assist during emergency codes, including recording cardiac rhythms

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with proper electrode placement in various clinical settings

  • Troubleshoot telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment

  • Respond appropriately to all monitor alarms

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with charge nurses, physicians, and clinical staff

  • Enter and verify orders in the electronic system

  • Retrieve and report laboratory results to the charge nurse in a timely manner

  • Ensure documentation complies with organizational policies and regulatory standards

  • Safely manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment


Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)


Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross (valid within one year)

  • Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course
