Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Rotating Weekends)
Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Rotating Weekends)
A large acute care hospital in North Central Florida is seeking an experienced Float Pool Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN). This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple inpatient medical-surgical units, providing high-quality, patient-centered care while adapting to varying clinical environments.
This position is ideal for nurses who are flexible, clinically confident, and thrive in fast-paced hospital settings.
Candidates must live within a commutable distance of the facility (no more than 60 minutes)
Must be comfortable with a 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
In-person interview required prior to offer (may include shadowing and facility tour)
Floating is limited to medical-surgical units only
Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop appropriate nursing diagnoses
Implement and evaluate individualized care plans with a focus on continuous improvement
Serve as a patient and family advocate, maintaining privacy and confidentiality at all times
Adapt quickly to different unit workflows, patient populations, and care teams
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record
Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last year) acute care Medical-Surgical RN experience – REQUIRED
Candidates must be currently working in a Med-Surg role
Willingness and ability to float across multiple medical-surgical units
Active Florida RN license or approved multistate (compact) RN license
Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of start
AHCA Level II background screening and fingerprinting required
