Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT / CRT)

Location: Gainesville, FL 32614

Shift: Nights | Rotating Weekends

Position Overview

A large, hospital in Florida is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) to join its respiratory care team. This role supports patients across multiple acuity levels, including critical care, and plays a vital role in delivering safe, evidence-based respiratory therapy services.

Facility Overview

  • 500+ bed, full-service medical and surgical hospital

  • Joint Commission–accredited

  • Comprehensive Stroke Center

  • Accredited Chest Pain Center

  • Services include cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, and wound therapy

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver, set up, monitor, and maintain routine and advanced respiratory therapies

  • Operate and manage respiratory equipment, including oxygen delivery systems, aerosol therapy devices, and mechanical ventilators

  • Perform and interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) results

  • Monitor patient responses to respiratory treatments and medications

  • Assess, reassess, and document patient condition and therapy outcomes

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and caregivers

  • Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments and care plans

  • Identify and report suspected abuse or neglect per hospital policy

  • Maintain compliance with respiratory care standards, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required

    • ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, or Critical Care experience preferred

    • Home care and long-term care experience considered

    • CRT experience accepted

  • Active Florida Respiratory Therapist License

  • NBRC Certification (RRT or CRT)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required

  • ACLS required within 30 days of hire

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 30 days of hire

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 30 days of hire
